3D Scanning Applications Engineer
Description
Europac3D is seeking an experienced applications engineer to provide multi-disciplinary 3d scanning and measuring support to the business with regards to sales, training and service work.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the role will involve the advanced application of 3d scanning hardware and software to a broad range of industries. The successful enginneer will be tech-savvy, dynamic and personable, with the ability to support sales during demonstraions and subsequent customer training programs. In addition the role requires the use of portable scanning equipment used within the service bureau.
Responsibilities
- Applications support for customers either by phone or by direct visits to customer sites.
- Customer training on hardware and software.
- Contract Service work. Providing on-site measurement, 3d scanning and reverse engineering services.
- Supporting sales activity in the application of software and hardware demonstrations
- Attending promotional activity such as exhibitions and open houses
- Software testing
- Supporting 3D print services to help provide 'clean' CAD data or editing of customer models
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Engineering based degree or equivalent
- High level knowledge of parametric based CAD software such as Solidworks, Siemens NX, Inventor or Catia. A knowledge of Geomagic Design X would be preferable.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Able and willing to travel throughout the UK
- A high level of understanding of technical drawings and CAD
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to get along well with others
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience of using metrology based inspection software, ideally with knowledge with at least one of the following software: Polworks or Geomagic
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and constraints
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience working directly with customers, preferably in the delivery of support or services
- Ability to adapt to flexible working hours
